Hey, I'm Fallinginaforrest. If you're a fan of Starkid, Shipwrecked, The Tin Can Bros, Pulp Musicals, Smosh, Aoaoaoa, or hell, even Dropout, you may have seen me on your dash before. I create art, I doodle, I wax Poetic about fictional characters and I shitpost... about fictional characters.

Where have you seen my work? Well, I've made Posters for the Artists in Aoaoaoa (Pasadena and Silverlake Tapes), Characters for the storytellers in Shipwrecked's D&D campaign, and have a three year backlog of increasingly obnoxious fanart of my other interests.

I've recently discovered that my Maintenance Loan from the Government isn't going to cover the cost of my University Accommodation- especially not if I want to do fun things like go to the theatre, or eat. Because I'm moving to a different part of the country, I'm currently unemployed and money is draining pretty quickly in the interim!

All this to say, I need your support.

How can you support me? Good question, reader. There are a number of ways.

I have a Redbubble, where you can buy selected artworks as prints, mugs, stickers, t-shirts, etc. Redbubble only pays out if you make over a certain threshold, so if I could consistently make that threshold it would be a great impact on my monetary situation.

Here are some of my favourite bits of pirate trivia:

Ann Bonny's name has been spelled "Anne" with an e for 300 years due to a error in the trial record.

The sole surviving physical description of Ann Bonny and Mary Read by an eyewitness is basically "I knew they were women because they had big breasts".

Blackbeard once ransomed the city of Charleston for syphilis medication.

There is no known record of Blackbeard killing anyone before his final battle.

The word "buccaneer" has the same origins as the word "barbecue" (the boucan, a means of preparing meat).

A buccaneer, William Dampier, introduced the word "avocado" (among others) to the English language (he was also the first person to circumnavigate the world three times).

Wrecks of at least two pirate ships have been discovered: "Black Sam" Bellamy's Whydah Galley, and Blackbeard's Queen Anne's Revenge.

you know, cats are a society, Cat definedly had a name before everyone left. so when Lister rolled around and just decided to call him Cat he just went with it, was his last name just so uncool? did he just not care? or the crushing one, was he so much of a recluce, like was alluded to in promised land, that he never really heard his name being used by anyone so he wouldn't really even respond to it if he heard it? even his brother doesn't call him by any name. he's just a nameless outcast who was left on the ship with a dying delusional priest. i feel like he was quite young at that point too like how could they do that to him!!

might i think about his obsession with himself being because he was the only one who would care about him and if he stopped caring about himself then no-one else would, and no-one else would help him if he started spiraling or slipped up, we can literally see his obsession with himself simmer down as he learns to be a part of the dwarfers because now he doesn't have to be the only one to take care of himself, he can focus on other things than survival for a change -oouugh i'm sorry i'm just dying at the thought of a corralation between his self obsession and abandonment which seemed to happen even before the cats physically left. like he must have known that if he let his mental state deteriorate he would be done for, being alone on that ship and all. like surely the priest and him had their chats but that priest just could not have been much in terms of company.

this was supposed to be a funny post like "ooh what could be Cat's given name??" but i just had to get to thinking and as we know, that never ends well.

HiMERU…HiMERU was…no, HiMERU is loved, he has fans who adore him, send him letters filled with their affections for him. I know that it’s meant for me, the HiMERU who sings and dances on stage, and a part of me relishes in that. I want it to stop. This love shouldn’t be for me. It aches when the rush of adrenaline from a live runs out and I feel like I need to break into old habits. My pack of cigarettes sits in a drawer by my bed, untouched. That’s the only thing that really feels like it’s mine. 

He should be on stage. It’s what he was born to do, even if the universe said otherwise. What had he done to deserve such a cruel fate? I was jealous of his love for idols, having buried any passions in the company of that man, but now…is it worth it? Was it worth it, Kaname? When you wake up (I cannot make myself believe there will ever be any other option for you), will you still love idols? Despite what they’ve done to you, your mother, I feel like you would. You would love Crazy:B and their wild ways. Or maybe that’s why I love them. They’re what I wished I could have had when I was your age, struggling to find myself. It’s a strange feeling, knowing that I’ve made a home for myself with them, against all odds. 

Amagi, our “leader”, at least on paper is a loud and obnoxious man, but I have no doubt that he cares about you. I haven’t told him, but I suspect that Vice President has, and he seems to know when I’ve got you on my mind. He’s very subtle at everything he does, which just makes him more difficult to read and frustrating to be around, but he cares deeply for his juniors, that much is obvious. 

Shiina had no desire to be an idol, in the same way I had no interest in it before you. He’s very content with his lot in life, not wanting to push things too far and I almost wish that you could be more like him but…that would make you not yourself, the brother I’ve cared for so much this past year. If you were more cautious, less impulsive, more like me, then maybe you’d be awake. I wish you were awake. I wish the world could have embraced you like it does for Shiina now. 

Oukawa is the youngest and I would say he reminds me of you, but I know you two are nothing alike. He fills something of a void in my life, caring for someone younger, watching them grow. I want you to meet him someday. I want all of Crazy:B to meet you, to love you the way that I do, but I can’t help but hide you away. The more people who know, the more chances for my secret getting out. 

I’m sorry, Kaname. I never could tell you how much you meant to me. I hope I can soon. I will see it through that the world remembers your name.
